The Spanish-Swiss band Sunday,June, formed in Geneva in 2024, crafts psychedelic pop that captures the light as much as it distorts it: a warm and nostalgic ‘solar psych’, where the melodies linger without ever imposing themselves. Hazy layers, shimmering guitars, and an unapologetic penchant for detours rather than straight lines: tracks that take their time to settle in, to breathe and to leave their mark. Having developed his early compositions in a rather introspective manner, Mario Peiró Espi sought to give the project a truly collective dimension. He therefore brought in Antoine Chapel (keyboards, backing vocals), Audrey Croisier (guitar, backing vocals), Vincent Breza (bass) and Thomas Abbet (drums). From the very first sessions, the musical and personal chemistry was evident and quickly became one of the cornerstones of Sunday,June’s identity.

With Sun Glitter and Other Reflections (2025), the band laid the foundations for their sound: a dense, sun-drenched psychedelic pop, largely crafted in the privacy of a home studio and driven by a genuine taste for experimentation. Acclaimed by critics, this debut album took Sunday,June to various venues across Switzerland and Europe, notably the Montreux Jazz Festival, the Antigel Festival, Supersonic in Paris and, most recently, to Sicily for the Ypsigrock Festival. On stage, the tracks stretch out, transform and draw the audience into an almost hypnotic state.

On 6 November 2026, Sunday,June will release their second album, Cinema, recorded at Chapel Studios (Slowdive, Arctic Monkeys) in England with producer Andy Savours (My Bloody Valentine, Arctic Monkeys, The Killers). Composed collectively during several writing retreats in secluded locations close to nature, the album was recorded live, in a single room, to capture the energy of the moment.

With Cinema, Sunday,June takes the collective approach it has pursued since its formation a step further. This second album marks a decisive milestone in the band’s journey, revealing a sound that is maturing rapidly. Whereas the first album drew on a form of introspection, Cinema broadens the scope: it is more expansive, more organic, but also more cinematic. A logical progression that establishes Sunday,June in a niche all of its own within the indie scene.
