COLD CAUSE

COLD CAUSE

Release on 10 April 2026

COLD CAUSE brings together three unique musical personalities with strong personalities: Luiça on vocals, Bruno on synths and machines, and Mathieu on guitar.

In 2024, they met for a sound project based on the German artist Joseph Beuys. The performance was an immediate success, revealing a unique chemistry between the three musicians.

From this encounter was born COLD CAUSE: a powerful musical universe at the crossroads of post-punk, EBM and sound experimentation, with distant echoes of Lebanon Hanover, Boy Harsher, DAF, Joy Division and Kraftwerk.

Luiça, the singer, explores a variety of registers: cold, dark, rhythmic, capable of drawing on melancholy or despair, but also of finding warm and comforting accents.

Bruno, on synths, creates hypnotic and catchy lines, ranging from deep bass to danceable, martial rhythms.

Mathieu, on guitar, takes the band to melancholic landscapes, bringing a more dissonant and organic dimension, like a human voice anchoring the whole. Live, the band delivers a powerful and electric set, carried by the spellbinding presence of the singer.

Composed of nine tracks, the album combines several moods.

Dark, danceable disco (VAMPIRE DER LIEBE, DARK MADONNA and ROAD, with more melancholic accents).

A post-punk side, with sharp guitars and tense rhythms (CITY OF FIRMAMENTS, ON THE FIRST PAGE, DAS GESPENST).

More electro-oriented tracks (DEAD DIAMOND MACHINE, RED DUST).

The album ends with a pocket blues symphony (DRUNKEN BIRD).

The lyrics oscillate between wounded loves populated by monsters, urban drifts and night lights, in a dark and cinematic atmosphere.
